Holagraph UI/UX Case Study

Designing an Integrated Ecosystem for Employment, Training & Microfinance

Overview

At Holagraph, I joined the team as a UI/UX consultant to help a platform that addresses a pressing challenge: over 500 million Indian youth lack access to formal education, skill certification, or credit histories making them invisible to the job market. Holagraph bridges this gap by integrating recruitment, training, and financing into a unified experience.

My Role

  • Understand the problem statements with stakeholders

  • Conduct competitor analysis across parallel industries

  • Design user personas, flows, and site architecture

  • Create cohesive visual language, including iconography and UI patterns

  • Contribute to interaction design for credit application, discovery, and prediction tools

Design Process

🧠 Problem Framing

We began by identifying core friction points for Indian youth and MSMEs:

  • No access to certified training or financing

  • Invisibility due to lack of digital identity or credit history

  • Uncertainty in job availability across regions

This led us to define Holagraph’s key objectives:
✔ Enable discovery of jobs, training, and financing opportunities
✔ Offer alternative credit scoring for training loans
✔ Use predictive ML to surface job certainty by region and role

🔍 Competitor Analysis

We mapped existing platforms into four segments:

Type

Example Platforms

Gaps Identified

Recruitment

Naukri, Apna

No training or financial integration

Training

NSDC, Udemy

Not outcome-linked, lacks financing

Financing

Avail, EarlySalary

Not tied to skill building or hiring

Full-stack

None offered recruitment + training + credit

This confirmed the opportunity for a full-stack intervention where discovery, skilling, and financing coexist in a singular user journey.

👤 User Personas

We synthesized insights into 3 primary personas:

  1. First-time job seekers with no formal credit history

  2. MSME owners seeking skilled workers

  3. Training providers needing better discovery and credibility

Each persona had distinct entry points and goals, which informed both navigation and content prioritization.

🔁 User Flow & Interaction Design

Key UX goals:

  • Frictionless onboarding for users unfamiliar with digital platforms

  • Progressive disclosure of features across job, training, and loan workflows

  • Real-time updates using ML predictions for job demand in 5,000+ sub-districts

I structured user flows that connected these services without overwhelming the user focusing on modular, card-based UI layers with contextual calls to action.

🧩 Visual & Interaction Design

I designed a visual system that communicates clarity and accessibility, using a modern swatch anchored in trust and growth:

  • Primary: #11868C, #2E9A96

  • Accent & Neutral: #808697, #FFFFFF

Iconography was built to be simple, recognizable, and scalable across web/mobile. Interactions emphasize feedback: soft hover states, collapsible sections, and contextual microcopy to guide action.

Outcome

  • Created a unified experience across three high-friction domains

  • Delivered a scalable UI system and icon library for future rollout

  • Enabled access to employment via a UX that reflects both social sensitivity and system efficiency
